Staff Accountant

We’re hiring a Staff Accountant to join the finance team of one of our leading clients in the natural supplements and consumer products space. With over 40 years of innovation and market presence across the US and Canada, our client is dedicated to delivering high-quality natural products that make a difference.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented self-starter who thrives in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting cross-functional teams, and driving operational efficiency. While this is not a CPA-designated position, strong analytical skills and a passion for continuous improvement are essential.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in compliance with accounting standards.
  • Lead month-end and year-end close activities to ensure timely and reliable financial reporting.
  • Reconcile bank and general ledger accounts with precision and accuracy.
  • Record journal entries and ensure proper documentation of financial transactions.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing and payment tracking.
  • Support audit processes through documentation preparation and response to auditor inquiries.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
  • Identify and suggest process improvements in accounting and reporting systems.
  • Generate routine and ad-hoc financial reports and analysis.
  • Handle deduction processes, including manual credit memo journal entries and documentation.
  • Provide FP&A support for sales, marketing, and operations, including margin analysis and cost tracking.
  • Collaborate across departments to streamline operational workflows, particularly in order entry and deductions.
  • Support HR processes such as onboarding and benefits administration.
  • Partner with IT on key projects including cloud migrations and inventory system enhancements.
  • Serve as a backup for order entry as needed.
  • Leverage AI tools to increase accuracy, efficiency, and productivity.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of accounting and financial analysis experience.
  • Proficiency in ERP software (experience with Sage 100 is a plus).
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Comfortable using AI tools in a professional setting.
  • In-depth understanding of GAAP.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Clear and effective communicator.
  • Quick to learn new technologies and software systems.
