Procurement Manager
Job Summary: As a Procurement Manager with over 10 years of experience, you will be instrumental in sourcing, evaluating, and managing suppliers to ensure a seamless and efficient supply chain. In this role, you will focus on procuring high-quality products with cost efficiency while ensuring compliance with vendor specifications. Ideally, you will have experience in CPG products, particularly in supplements or food, where you will ensure consistency across vendor changes by reviewing quality documentation, technical specification sheets, and certificates of analysis. You will handle client communication and maintain inventory accuracy. Proficiency in Fishbowl inventory management software is essential.
Job Responsibilities:
Supplier Sourcing and Evaluation:
- Identify, assess, and select suppliers based on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure product consistency during vendor changes by reviewing technical documents such as quality specifications and certificates of analysis.
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships, addressing any issues quickly and efficiently.
Client-Facing Communication:
- Serve as the point of contact for clients, primarily through email, to manage expectations, provide updates, and address any procurement-related inquiries.
Contract Negotiation:
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure the best possible deals, ensuring alignment with quality standards.
- Manage supplier agreements while ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures.
Inventory and Supply Chain Management:
- Oversee inventory levels, ensuring timely procurement to prevent shortages or excess stock.
- Utilize data-driven strategies to optimize the supply chain, focusing on cost savings while maintaining product availability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal teams, including sales, production, and logistics, to ensure procurement aligns with overall business goals and timelines.
- Facilitate smooth communication and collaboration across departments to meet project objectives.
Software Proficiency (Fishbowl):
- Use Fishbowl inventory management software to track orders, manage inventory, and generate procurement reports.
- Analyze data within Fishbowl to forecast needs, identify trends, and optimize purchasing decisions.
Qualifications:
- Over 10 years of proven experience in procurement and supply chain management, ideally within CPG products (supplement or food industries preferred).
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain supplier and client relationships.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly in email-based client interactions.
- Expertise in contract negotiation and supplier management.
- Ability to review and ensure product consistency using technical documents like quality specs and certificates of analysis.
- Proficiency in Fishbowl inventory management software is required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently.
- Familiarity with inventory management software, particularly Fishbowl.
