Operational Excellence & Process Improvement Specialis

We are seeking an Operational Excellence & Process Improvement Specialist to document, improve, standardize, and sustain critical business and project-delivery processes. This role combines Lean Six Sigma discipline, process documentation, stakeholder facilitation, and responsible use of AI tools to accelerate knowledge capture without sacrificing quality.

Ideal candidate has 5+ years in operational excellence, continuous improvement, or process engineering with demonstrated Lean/Six Sigma application. You will work embedded with the operations team, focusing on Budget & Forecasting, RFIs, Submittals, Contracts, and Field Reports.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate discovery sessions with leaders to understand current processes, handoffs, and pain points.
  • Translate tacit knowledge into clear process maps, workflows, SIPOCs, and decision points.
  • Review existing SOPs and identify gaps, duplication, and key-person dependencies.
  • Apply Lean Six Sigma methods including DMAIC, root-cause analysis, and waste identification.
  • Design future-state workflows improving clarity, cycle time, quality, and accountability.
  • Develop SOPs, work instructions, process maps, job aids, checklists, and RACI matrices.
  • Use AI tools responsibly to accelerate documentation with required human validation.
  • Validate procedures through walkthroughs, pilots, and user acceptance.
  • Support rollout, training, and adoption to ensure documented procedures become operating standard.
  • Establish control plans, audit checks, and escalation triggers.
  • Measure adoption and lead corrective action when needed.
  • Document Budget & Forecasting, RFIs, Submittals, Contracts, and Field Reports.
  • Define measurable outcomes, ownership, and controls.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years in operational excellence, process improvement, or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated Lean and Six Sigma methods in real operating environments.
  • Green Belt certification or equivalent; Black Belt preferred.
  • Strong facilitation and interviewing capability.
  • Strong process-mapping and technical-writing skills.
  • Ability to define measurable outcomes and controls.
  • Excellent written and verbal English.
  • Ability to work U.S.-aligned night-shift hours.
  • Construction, engineering, or project-based industry experience preferred.
  • Understanding of general-contractor workflows preferred.
  • Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, Visio, or comparable tools preferred.
  • Experience using AI tools for knowledge capture preferred.
