Internal Financial Controller

Concertina is seeking a highly experienced Financial Controller with a strong background in U.S.-based financial operations, particularly within service-oriented businesses. This key leadership role is ideal for a hands-on CPA who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments and brings deep expertise in Xero, financial reporting, compliance, and team collaboration. You’ll ensure financial accuracy and operational excellence while supporting strategic decisions with robust financial insights.

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee accurate financial reporting and general ledger management in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Lead and continuously improve monthly and quarterly close processes.
• Design, implement, and monitor internal financial controls and accounting procedures.
• Develop and maintain real-time financial dashboards, models, and reports.
• Manage and coordinate with outsourced accounting/bookkeeping partners.
• Liaise with external tax advisors and auditors to support filings and audits.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, conduct bank reconciliations, and forecast cash flow.
• Administer and optimize Xero and integrated platforms (e.g., Bill.com, Expensify).
• Drive annual budgeting, reforecasting, and variance analysis with department leads.
• Provide data-driven insights to support long-term financial planning and company growth.

Qualifications

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) – Required
• 10–15+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience.
• Proven track record with U.S.-based clients or employers.
• Mastery of Xero and financial reporting systems (e.g., Fathom, Gusto).
• Demonstrated experience in services-based industries: consulting, SaaS, marketing, or professional services.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and deliver on deadlines.

• U.S. experience is non-negotiable – ideally with U.S.-based clients or companies.
