Accountant & Bookkeeper - Real Estate Experience

Job Summary: Our client is a growing property management and development firm dedicated to providing exceptional service to owners and residents. We are seeking an exceptional Accountant with proficiency in bookkeeping and real estate experience to join our team. The successful candidate will manage financial records, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with accounting regulations, contributing to a seamless property management experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records.
• Ensure timely entry of all transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
• Reconcile accounts and ensure accuracy of all financial data
• Prepare monthly financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting as required
• Ensure compliance with all accounting and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with other departments to improve financial processes and procedures
• Assist with year-end audits and tax preparation
• Manage and track all expenses related to real estate transactions, including commissions, marketing expenses, and other property-related expenses.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years’ experience in bookkeeping/accounting (in work or academic environment).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient in Excel.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field from an accredited university.
• Experience in AppFolio.
• Experience in real estate accounting.
