Bookkeeper

Job Summary: Responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and performing various accounting tasks. This role involves organizing financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and generating financial reports. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, proficiency in accounting software, and excellent numerical skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Record financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner into accounting software.
  • Reconcile bank statements to ensure accuracy of accounts.
  • Prepare and send invoices to clients, and diligently follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable efficiently.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare meticulous journal entries.
  • Assist with payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Generate financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
  • Assist with budget preparation and diligently monitor financial performance.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure financial compliance and accuracy.

  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.

  • Certification such as Certified Bookkeeper (CB) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Willingness to adapt to new technologies and accounting software.
  • Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of financial information.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with tax preparation processes is preferred.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 5 years of proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours during peak periods as required.
